Village Board Members
Mayor Ed Markunas
Ed Markunas was elected as Mayor after serving on the Village Board as a Trustee. He was sworn into office on December 7, 2015.
Ed worked as a Consultant for the Village of Suffern Parking Authority (SPA) where his expertise was in administration, management and implementation of SPA projects. Through his direct involvement in the Parking Authority's special projects, Ed routinely acted as a liaison with Suffern's Police Department, Department of Public Works, Chamber of Commerce, attorneys and village residents.
Prior to the Suffern Parking Authority, he was a decorated New York City Police Officer assigned to the Special Operations Division and retired after 20 years of service.
As a testimony to his dedication and loyalty to his country, Ed is a proud Veteran of the United States Coast Guard and New York Air National Guard as well as an active member and current Vice Commander of Suffern's American Legion Post 859.
Ed and his wife, Bonnie, have been living in Suffern since 1994 and are active parishioners of Sacred Heart Church. They are the proud parents of Andrew and Emily who currently attend Rockland Community College and Suffern High School.

Frank is a 38 year resident of Suffern where he and his wife Lois raised 4 sons. He is retired from the National Guard after 35 years of service and has a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management.
Frank served as a Parking Enforcement Officer for the Village and has also served the Village as a volunteer on the Recycling Committee and has been active with the Suffern Farmer's Market since its inception. He was also part of the Suffern Revitalization and the Suffern Civic Association. He is an officer in the American Legion Post 859 and the Sons of Italy in America. Frank is ready to serve the Village as a Trustee and pledges to always be accessible and responsive to Suffern residents.
